The computer program TempsEscriptori allows current weather news for the municipalities of Catalonia to be displayed

El Meteorological Service of Catalonia offers a tool for displaying weather news on the computer desktop. With the software TempsEscriptori, which can be downloaded from the website meteocatserveis.com, users can view current weather news on their computer's task bar, as well as the weather forecasts for the next 12 hours in any municipality of Catalonia.

This multi-platform software TempsEscritori operates very simply: using meteorological data from over 150 automatic stations, which the programme consults by means of the webservice technique, the climactically most representative point in the selected municipality is chosen and the current temperature is displayed on the computer's task bar. The representative nature of the data depends on each case and there may be differences between the temperature displayed and the real temperature in the municipality.

Also by means of a webservice, the programme consults the weather forecast for the district prepared daily by the Meteorological Service of Catalonia and, to the left of the temperature, displays the prediction for the district in which the selected municipality is located.
