Road works cause long term road closures

Alternative itinerary for Felip II
Alternative itinerary for Felip II

Part of Carrer de Felip II in Barcelona and Rambla d'Egara in Terrassa will be closed for one year due to road works

Carrer de Felip II will be closed to traffic from 9th January for one year due to construction work being carried out on the new Felip II station at Sagrera-Meridiana on Line 9.  Rambla d'Egara in Terrassa, between Carrer de Galileu and Plaça del Doré, will also be closed to traffic as from 9:30h on 9th January until the end of the year, due to construction work on the extension of the FGC Vallés line to Terrassa.

Carrer Felip II

A 150-metre stretch of road between Avinguda Meridiana and Carrer de Juan de Garay will be closed to traffic due to excavation work on the road and part of the pavement. During this period, only access to car parks situated on this stretch of road will be permitted. Access to these car parks may also be affected at certain times during the construction work in which case alternative car parks will be provided when necessary.

Traffic alterations and alternative itineraries will be the following:

  • Provisional route in the northern direction from Avinguda Meridiana, passing along Carrer de Sant Antoni Maria Claret, Carrer d'Espronceda and Carrer de Juan de Garay, in order to link up once again with Carrer de Felip II.

  • Bus lines 71 and 126, which are affected by these restrictions, will be detoured to the alternative route and the bus stop now situated on the closed stretch of Carrer de Felip II will be transferred to Carrer d'Espronceda.

  • Footpaths will be installed for pedestrians on the closed stretch of Felip II in order to minimize the effects on resident and local businesses.

  • In order to allow access to the service station situated on the junction of Felip II and Avinguda Meridiana during the term of the construction work, a provisional entrance and exit will be created on Avinguda Meridiana.

Rambla d'Égara

La Rambla d'Égara will be affected by traffic restrictions between Carrer de Galileu and Plaça del Doré, due to construction work being carried out to extend the FGC Vallés line to Terrassa. In order to minimize the effects, traffic will be re-directed on Carrers de Galileu and Arquímedes and recommended alternative routes along Ronda de Ponent and Avinguda del Vallès will be signposted. The bus lines affected will now run on a special bus lane which has been created on Carrer de Galileu and Arquímedes, taking advantage of the previous parking zone.
