Using your TSI |
What is my TSI for? |

· It registers your right to use the public health care system.
· It is essential for accessing public health care services.
· It makes it quick and easy to identify you because it uses a personal identification code (PIC).
· Because it is individual, it gives all the members of your family independence in using health services.
· It is essential for accessing pharmaceutical provisions funded by CatSalut.
· It cannot be used with private health care companies.

| Can I use my TSI for health care in hospitals, clinics, emergencies or with private companies devoted to home-help health services? |

· It cannot be used with private health care companies.
· You can request emergency assistance without any documentation and present it later.
· It is essential to use the card to receive care in hospitals, public health care centres and to access drugs funded by CatSalut in pharmacies.

| If your TSI does not arrive or deteriorates. |

· If your card is in poor condition, you should take it to your primary health care centre (CAP), where they will check whether the magnetic strip is worn and can request a new card for you.
· You can also request a copy of your TSI using the interactive services on the internet.
· It is important to keep the old card until the new one arrives.

· Your new TSI will look a bit different. If you have the old one, you do not have to, but you can request a new one. The one you have is completely valid. When your current card expires, the next one you receive will feature the new design.

What do I do if I don't have my TSI?

·You can request a copy of your TSI using the interactive services on the internet.
·You can also go to your CAP to request a new card. As you are already registered at your CAP, they will generate a provisional identification document (PID) that can be used as a provisional TSI and which shows you have requested a new one.

· You should request a TSI from your CAP, where you will be assigned a general practitioner and, if necessary, given a provisional identification document (PID) that will let you access the pharmaceutical service.

· You have also to take the document showing registration with Social Security and other forms that may be required by the National Social Security Institute (NSSI). |
