  Using your TSI
What is my TSI for?
  · It registers your right to use the public health care system.
· It is essential for accessing public health care services.
· It makes it quick and easy to identify you because it uses a personal identification code (PIC).
· Because it is individual, it gives all the members of your family independence in using health services.
· It is essential for accessing pharmaceutical provisions funded by CatSalut.
· It cannot be used with private health care companies.

Can I use my TSI for health care in hospitals, clinics, emergencies or with private companies devoted to home-help health services?
  · It cannot be used with private health care companies.
· You can request emergency assistance without any documentation and present it later.
· It is essential to use the card to receive care in hospitals, public health care centres and to access drugs funded by CatSalut in pharmacies.

If your TSI does not arrive or deteriorates.
  · If your card is in poor condition, you should take it to your primary health care centre (CAP), where they will check whether the magnetic strip is worn and can request a new card for you.
· You can also request a copy of your TSI using the interactive services on the internet.
· It is important to keep the old card until the new one arrives.

The new TSI
  · Your new TSI will look a bit different. If you have the old one, you do not have to, but you can request a new one. The one you have is completely valid. When your current card expires, the next one you receive will feature the new design.

What do I do if I don't have my TSI?
· Due to its being lost it or stolen
·You can request a copy of your TSI using the interactive services on the internet.
·You can also go to your CAP to request a new card. As you are already registered at your CAP, they will generate a provisional identification document (PID) that can be used as a provisional TSI and which shows you have requested a new one.
· Due to not having received it
  · You should request a TSI from your CAP, where you will be assigned a general practitioner and, if necessary, given a provisional identification document (PID) that will let you access the pharmaceutical service.
