ALCER. Asociación para la Lucha Contra las
Enfermedades del Riñón
ALCER was founded in Barcelona on 30 November 1980. Its main objectives are to provide support to people with renal disease and promote organ donation.
It offers:
· Support for people with renal disease.
· Awareness campaigns to promote organ donation.
· Advice on health, social, legal and labour issues.
· Arranging appointments at dialysis stations in Catalonia, Spain and abroad.
· Processing pensions and disability certificates.
· Short courses on personal growth (self-esteem and internal balance, relaxation, wellbeing, self-motivation, tolerance and solidarity with oneself and others, dialogue and communication, etc.).
· Conferences on organ transplants and the situation of people with renal disease.
· Participation in trade fairs and festivals (Children's Festival, etc.).
· Leisure and sporting activities.
· Organising holidays in Spain.
· Excursions.
· Publication and distribution of the ALCER magazine (6000 copies), books, brochures, stickers and booklets.
