Processing Activity Data
OCATT processes data on the activities it coordinates in order to detect any room for improvement regarding organ donations and transplantation. OCATT’s data-processing tasks include:
· Following up on and analysing organ and tissue donations and transplantation, based on information obtained from the UCIO and transplantation centres.
· Issuing regular reports (monthly, quarterly, annual) for the clinical professionals who provide data and the healthcare authorities.
The activity data is regularly collected and entered into the registry of donors and patients waiting for transplants. Besides providing data on donation and transplantation, this registry contains the details of patients waiting for liver, heart, lung and pancreas transplants.
For the latest published information on our activities, go to the section Statistics and Publications - Donation and Transplantation Data.
OCATT also carries out quality control on searches for donors who are not family members of patients waiting for transplants of haematopoietic stem cells (blood-forming stem cells). The data obtained come from the centres authorised to carry out this type of treatment and from the Spanish Bone Marrow Donor Registry (REDMO), which is managed by the Josep Carreras Foundation, and are entered into the registry of patients waiting for haematopoietic stem-cell transplants from donors who are not family members, which is managed by OCATT.
