Master's course objectives: |
This master's degree course aims to form engineers with a general knowledge of environmental systems, with particular emphasis on aspects concerning water (river basins, wastewater treatment, etc.), supplemented by expertise in systems engineering, communications, sensors and control technology.
This complementary training builds on the engineer's capacity to provide multidisciplinary solutions for managing, controlling and monitoring complex environmental systems. |
Prospective career opportunities: |
Graduates of this course will have received both theoretical and practical training thanks to which they will be able to understand and deal with problems that may arise in a field as wide as that of environmental systems.
Likewise they will have knowledge of new developments and trends. As an added value, (multicultural) teamwork, organisation, the need for knowledge of local realities and communicative and presentation skills lead to competence in analysis and decision making considering ethical factors. In this way, graduates of this course will be qualified to occupy strategic positions in this field: environmental project engineer/manager; consultant/scientist in water quality; process design engineer; wastewater treatment engineer; engineer in hydrology, treatment and flood prevention, water networks, rivers and water quality.
The international nature of this master's course, in regard to fluency in English and knowledge of one or two local languages, along with the contacts made within the network, provide graduates with a series of additional opportunities, in companies or in institutions working in the field. |
