Inter-University Council of Catalonia
The Inter-University Council of Catalonia (CIC) is the coordinating
body for the Catalan university system and acts as
a consultative and advisory body to the Government of Catalonia
on
university
matters. It is made up of representatives of all the Catalan
public universities and of those private universities that are
recognised
by the Parliament of Catalonia.
Its main purpose is to coordinate relations between the university
community and the education authority.
It is also responsible for managing specific policies such as those
assigned to it by the Law governing Catalan Universities or those
assigned to it by the universities or by the Ministry of Universities,
Research and the Information Society (DURSI).
At the end of each financial year, the CIC gives an account of
its activities to the universities of Catalonia and to the Parliament
of Catalonia.
