Plans and measures

The political activity is based on a series of plans and actions, as follows:

1st research and innovation plan 2005-2008
The Research and Innovation Plan 2005-2008 was approved by the Government of Catalonia on 25 January 2005. This plan, which will synchronise the science and technology system in Catalonia in a coherent manner with a view to coordinating and consolidating research, development and innovation activities.

The University Investment Plan 2001-2006
The University Investment Plan 2001-2006, with a total budget of €402M, was approved by the Government on 12 June 2001. This plan covers investment in educational infrastructures and in other services directly related to academic activities in the seven public Catalan universities.

The Serra i Húnter programme
Law 1/2003 governing Catalan universities instructed the Government to draw up this plan and to provide it with a budget. It is aimed at promoting a new model of permanent employment for university teachers. On 1st August 2003, a framework agreement was signed between the DURSI, the Catalan universities and the Catalan University System Quality Agency in order to implement the Serra i Húnter Plan for permanent employment contracts for teaching staff.

Pilot Plan for Adapting Qualifications to the EHEA (Bologna Pilot Plan)
This plan, which was implemented during the 2004-2005 academic year, is aimed at adapting the higher education system Catalan to the requirements of the Bologna Declaration (catalan version) and of similar declarations on integration in the European Higher Education Area. This plan is current throughout 2005-2006 and new information will be incorporated.
