examination The general examination consists of four exercises:
The purpose of the specialised examination is to evaluate a candidate's skills, abilities and aptitude to successfully undertake studies associated with the subject area chosen for admission to university. There are five main subject areas:
Candidates must choose one of the five main subject areas. There are one or two compulsory subjects according to the subject area selected, and candidates must choose one or two optional subjects accordingly to make a total of three subjects to be examined in. According to the subject area chosen, candidates can
select the university studies associated with the subject area, in accordance
with appendix

An applicant who is examined in either Humanities, Social Sciences or Art and who selects the compulsory subject of one of the other two subject areas as an optional subject is thereby considered to have been examined in more than one subject area and can choose from all of the options associated with the corresponding subject areas.
Topics covered Examinations The application of Royal Decree 743/2003, of 20 June, regulating the university entrance examination for over-25s, will bring changes in the examination as of 2005. These changes will affect the structure of the exam, its contents and university entrance.
