Access to other universities

Access to private Catalan universities and the Open University of Catalonia (UOC)

Each university establishes its own student admission policies, which, in any event, have many common characteristics such as academic aptitude testing and, even, in some cases, a personal interview. The selection committee of each university determines whether a student is to be admitted or not.

The University of Vic is, however, an exception. In spite of being a private institution, it is included in the general university enrolment process.

Access to Universities in Spain

In order to study at a university in Spain, all that is required is to contact the secretariat of the centre of your choice.

If it is a state university, you need to get information about the enrolment process in the corresponding region.

You can consult the list of Spanish universities on the following webpage: http://www.rediris.es/recursos/centros/univ.es.html

Access to foreign universities

If you want to study at a university in a foreign country, all you have to do is contact the consulate of the country of your choice, or you can contact the different cultural organisations that many countries have in Barcelona such as the French Institute, the British Council, the Goethe Institute, the Italian Institute or the Institute of North American Studies, where you can get information about all the requirements you need to study there.

If you only want to study abroad for a short period of time, you can participate in the cooperation and mobility programmes for university students such as Erasmus, Alfa, Tempus, Leonardo da Vinci, Sòcrates, etc. To participate in these programmes you have to make a formal request at the university where you are enrolled and you will have to have completed at least one year of university studies before you can study abroad. Procedural information can be obtained from the university.
