Criteria for rating the student records of diploma and degree holders and recognised equivalents )pathway 2)
pursuant to RD 1267/1994 of 10 June

For studies completed under the new or reformed educational plan
The following is the criterion is applied:
The number of credits obtained is multiplied by the corresponding grade value obtained for each one (see table below), the
sum of wich is then be divided by the total number of credits for the corresponding course of study.

Table of values:
Pass: 1
Good: 2
Excellent: 3
Distinction: 4
Validated subjects are awarded a value of 1 adapted subjects are given the grade awarded by the issuing centre. Where no
such grade is available, these will not affect the weighting process remains unaffected; ungraded recognised subjects are
also not taken into account for weighting purposes.

Royal Decree 1044/2003 of 1 August, in the sole supplementary provision, partially modifies paragraph two of section 1.5 a)
of RD 1267/1994 of 10 June as follows: validated subjects will be equivalent in points that correspond to the qualification
obtained at the issuing centre while in the case of adapted subjects the calculation is made according to the qualification/s
obtained at the issuing centre and recognised credits without a qualification are not taken into account for weighting purposes.

The criteria laid down in RD 1044/2003 are applicable to students applying for subject validation from 12 September 2003
onwards, the date when the Decree came into effect.
