University Teaching Staff: evaluation and accreditation

The promotion of quality in the Catalan university system includes the evaluation and accreditation of teaching and research staff. This falls under the responsibility of the Agency for Quality in the University System in Catalonia (AQU).

AQU evaluation and accreditation of teaching, research and academic management staff of state universities is a prerequisite in the teaching staff selection process and in the assignation of payment for teaching and research staff (for both contracted and government employed staff).

The AQU also evaluates the teaching activity of academic personnel in the private universities within the Catalonian university system.
