Grants and aid

To study at the universities of Catalonia, the Administration of the Generalitat of Catalonia and the Spanish Government offer a series of aids and grants. Universities and other institutions in your country of origin may also do so.

Grants from Catalan universities

The announcements and applications for participating in the process of getting a grant are independent from other organisations and are directly managed and awarded by the university in which you are registered or interested in following studies, in accordance with the directives and criteria set by each centre.
For further information you can consult the website of the university where you are going to study.

  • Grants from the Management of University and Research Aids Agency

This mouthpiece is the basic reference point in assessment and management of financing university studies and research for all those interested in carrying out complete or partial university studies in Catalonia.
  • Institute of Catalan Studies
The Institute of Catalan Studies has study exchanges fro foreign researchers who want to carry out research into any aspect of Catalan culture.

    • Research grants in Spain for foreign students of Hispanic matters. Those interested can obtain information at Spanish embassies and consulates abroad.
    • Grants for foreigners for extending their studies, research and for summer courses at Spanish higher education centres; applications for these grants should be processed from the relevant organisation in each country, which also sets the deadlines for presentation.
  • Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs
