Catalonia, as a nation, exercises its self-government constituted as an Autonomous Government in accordance with the Constitution (Official State Gazette no. 311.3 of 29th December 1978) and with the Statute of Autonomy (Organic Law 6/2006, of 19th July; Official Diary of the Generalitat of Catalonia no. 4680), which is the basic institutional standard. The Generalitat is the institutional system in which the self-government of Catalonia is politically organised and is made up of the Parliament, the President of the Generalitat, the Government and the Administration of the Generalitat, the Council for Statutory Guarantees, the Ombudsman and the Catalan Public Audit Office.
